i am trying to find out any information about my greatgrandfather john henry baker. he married a bertha hannah chislett in 1915. She had been married before to a george palmer, they got married in 1904 and i believe that he died. they had one child Kathleen who was born in 1906. I am trying to find out where john henry baker was born and in what year. we have an idea that he could have come from the london area, possibly had a brother george.

Do you know in what year he died?

If you buy the marriage cert it will give you his age and his father's name and occupation - that will help to track him down in 1901 census.

There is a marriage on free bmd for John H. Baker to Bertha H. Palmer in Wilton, December l9l5. If you obtain this cert. it should give you his address at time of marriage and occupation, and his father's name, address and occupation.

i have been told that george palmer died in the war, my great grandmother bertha received some kind of medal after he died

theres a possibility that he john henry baker died in 1945 in the district of salisbury. george palmer died in the first world war
