Fanny Baker was married to Thomas Fenn in York in 1846, aged 23.. Her father was Thomas, an experimental chemist. I cannot find a definate reference to her baptism there is one 9/5/19 in York with parents Thomas and Catherine - probably too early. Thomas Baker born 1789 in Sherburn in Elmet, Yorkshire but I cannot find a marriage cert so cannot trace wife's name. Any help appreciated. |

The only Fanny baker I can find is Fanny born 1824 York she is a pupil along with her sisters, when cross checking this I find there is a tree on Ancestry with the same Fanny, she is the daughter of George Baker born Sherburn in Elmet 1793 brother to thomas 1789. |

That's the one! Thanks very much. Knew of brother Robert but not dates. They were all born Yorkshire and I could not confirm a link to broking in London - but there you go. Maybe he returned to York when he retired or maybe his wife died as she is not on that census. Alas I have no definate baptismal record for Fanny that would confirm her mother's first name - although suspect if was Catherine. |
