I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has information on Ansley Baker (nee Bristow) born around 1842 in Sussex England. She married Frank Baker of Archers Farm, Lewes, Sussex. They were Plymouth Brethren, objected to paying tithes, and emigrated to Australia with their 4 children. I understand Frank died about 4 months later in Australia leaving Ansley with the hard task of bringing up the children (names unknown). My father (her cousin Robert Bristow) visited her when in Australia - I THINK just before WW1, and I THINK she was in Melbourne running a guest house. She wrote me about 50 years ago but I have lost her letter. Any information would be greatly appreciated. |
