My gt-gt-grandmother was BERTHA BAKER bn Oct 1871 to CHARLES BAKER and ELIZABETH GAMBLE in Kingsfield Harrow Middlesex. We always assumed Bertha was an only child as she was bought up in a HOME FOR DESTITUTE GIRLS. And is there on the 1881census. Looking for her parents on the 1871 census for Kingsfield I found this. ADAM E (this is crossed out) Baker 33, Mddx Harrow, subject to fits ELIZABETH 30 bn Leicester CHARLES 10 bn Hertford GEORGE 9 bn Hyde Cheshire JANE 6 bn Leicester ------ 4 bn .. .. daur ELLEN 3 bn Harrow Is this Bertha's family? All these children are split up around the country by 1881. Have not found death of parents yet or been able to prove a relationship. If anyone thinks they have a connection I would love to hear from you. Cheers Heather
