BAKER formerly LANE I wonder if any one can help me find the death of my Gt Grandmother or her husband. Harriet LANE was born in Lavington, Wilts in 1853 the daughter of John Lane and Elizabeth nee Sainsbury, she had 3 illegitimate sons all born in Devizes Workhouse between 1870 and 1877, in 1884 she married a widower George BAKER (1st wife was Harriet BOLTER) and went on to have family with him. On the marriage certificate of William Alfred LANE, Harriet's middle son ( my Grandfather), in the column Father's name it states George LANE Decd, I wonder if this is a mistake and if it should read George BAKER, to date I can find no trace of deaths for either Harriet or George. Can you fit any of these people into your tree and if so PLEASE can you share the information. Thanks Val (nee Lane)Poynton Ches.
