Hi I am trying to find any records for my great aunt. I am told my grandad had a 2 sisters called May and Avril. There are quite a few Mays but zero Avrils. She was born around 1916 but not sure how accurate this is. The family lived in Lanchester in County Durham. My grandads name was Henry Bell and his father was Fred Bell. Henry was born in 1914.

Any help in finding Avril or May for that matter would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

See the one for Lanchester..might be yours but you need certificates to prove it.

Could the sisters have a different father? Did Fred die in the war?

Hi Suzanne, thanks for the help.

I have checked all the mothers maiden names above trying to get a match for Henry, May and Averill but no luck. Maybe they had a different mother.

Fred died in 1979. I have found his death record. I believe he was born in 1891. Henry (known as Harry) died in 1981. My family completely lost touch with Averill and May. I was hoping to confirm which was the correct Henry Bell before ordering the birth cert.

Cheers,

Paul

Have you got Henry's death cert. ?
The registration entry should show his birth date.

Hi Suzi, I dont know who registered Freds but I know his wife died a lot earlier so it wasnt her. I think it was probably his son Henry.

Gwyn,

I havent got Henry death cert but his birthday was 31st Jan 1914. There are two Henry Bells registered in the first quarter of 1914 in Lanchester. I will probably have to buy both of their certs.
