Trying to find Bell

MARION BELL I wonder if you can help us please. We’re trying to trace the parents of the Marion Bell who was working as a laundress for the Dykes family in Hamilton as recorded in the 1881 census. We obtained this information from the CD set available from the LDS. She gave her age as 27 and her place of birth as Blantyre. We have been unable to confirm this through any records available on the web. We have a ‘Birthday Book’ she kept which gives her date of birth as 18th April and her name as MARION W. BELL. We have a copy of a birth certificate for a daughter Mary, born to her in November 1874, there is no father's name. Mary was my wife’s grandmother. In 1888 Marion was working at Calder Park. We have a very small bible with this address and date in it. In 1889 she gave the bible to Mary. There is a connection – as yet unknown – with a ROSS family from Bothwell and a MILLER family from San Francisco, California. If you have any information that you feel could be relevant we would be most grateful for your help.
