I am looking for John George Walter Bennett born Fulham 1888 on the 1901 census......I think I have found him on the 1891 census but he is staying with his aunt.....can anyone help me find him on the 1901 census

I have got John George Walter Bennetts birth cert in the post today - he was born 1888 fulham (as we already knew) but extra information is - father John Bennett (bricklayer) mother Sarah jane Bennett maiden name Rayner..........so it looks like the census in this thread are not the correct ones - can anyone help please

thank you for your time barbara, that definately looks like them in 1891......I had obviously got it wrong when I said he was with his aunt this was my thoughts before the certificate arrived.....any ideas where they are in 1901?

I have definately found John on 1891 census, staying with his grandparents (Sarah Rayners b1867 paddington parents)
the family were living at 50 Clifton Street, Hammersmith. George Rayner was aged 52, occupation wheelwright.

With him were:

Martha aged 50, born Paddington
Frederick, aged 18, born Shepherds Bush, Middlesex. Occupation carriage cleaner
Joseph, aged 16, born Notting Hill, occupation van boy
Edward, aged 14, born Notting Hill, occupation errand boy
Louisa, aged 11, born Notting Hill
Rosina, aged 9, born Notting Hill
Ellen, aged 7, born Notting Hill
John Bennett (grandson) aged 2, born Notting Hill.

So, do you think he could be on 2 census.......and where areJohn and Sarah Bennett + son John in 1901?

It has happened in my family being on 2 census. Parents thought he was with them and grandparent said with them so perhaps they put him down as part of household but was not in fact there on the night.

Have you connected John and Elizabeth to the Bennets.? Is Elizabeth Sarah's sister or John's' sister?

They are living in a caravan and he is a hawker so possibly travellers?

sorry Christine, I am not sure what you are asking me.........I know John George walter Bennett was born 4 Aug 1888 hammersmith, fulham. Parents John Bennett and Sarah Jane Rayner. I have followed Sarah Jane Rayners side so I am 101% sure that he is staying with the Rayners on the 1891 census that I posted. My problem now is once he was born John and Sarah Bennett seem to disappear. I was hoping to find them in 1891 or 1901 as I need to trace the Bennett line and have nothing to go on . Except John George Walter Bennetts father was John Bennett Bricklayer - he was alive when John George Walter Bennett married in 1912. He was also a bricklayer on John George Walter Bennetts BC in 1888.
My other problem is that I do not know for sure if he had any siblings

On his BC his parents were both living at 69 Latymer Road, Hammersmith (the name of the road is really hard to read so may be wrong but definately is 69 Laty..er Road, hammersmith)
