Not without date details.

Born 18/05/1903 in Burton....and if I have the right man's certificate, died in hospital in Harlow in 1977, lived in Ware at that time. Date 03/02/1977

His parents will be named on his birth certificate

The person registering his death may be related

Where is BURTON?

I have his parents name, unfortunately William Bennett's movements are unknown after about 1936 when he was last know n to be in BURTON ON Trent. I managed to get a certificate for a William Bennett who died in 1977 who's birth date matched.
The name on the cert of the informant was Robert Derrick Rolfe, but this name means nothing to me I'm afraid?

There is little other detail on the death certificate to ensure I have a match between birth and death certs.
I was hoping somebody could shed some light on how to confirm I have indeed got the right certs?

No I'm afraid not, just the name.
Is the informant required to be a family member or relative? Or can anyone be an informant?

Anyone in possession of the medical certificate can inform the Registrar of a death.

It would be impractical to insist on a relative, as some people die without having any known living relatives.

You say that William was in Burton in 1936 - was he married?

Married Rosa Wright in 1932, had my father same year. Rosa died 1936.
My father ended up in care (loose term) and his father William Bennett disappeared from Burton upon Trent..to who knows where?

What was his occupation?

It will be on the marriage certificate, and should be on the death certificate
