Trying to find Bennett

I have recently started my family tree and am seeking any information on a William Bennett and the Bennett family. We know the family originate from London and believe he was born in 1876 and he died at the age of 45. His second marraige was to a Celina Smith (nee Knottle). No idea of his first wifes name. They both took 5 children each into their marraige and had 5 further children, Ethel Celina (my grandmother), Emma, Bertha, Ivy and Richard. We know that William ran his own business in the Muswell Hill area and it was called Bennetts Coaches. My mothers recalls contacts also in the Nottinghill area, so we don't know if family lived in this area too. My grandmother and her sisters and brother were placed into an orphanage soon after their fathers death as his wife Celina became ill herself. The company Bennetts Coaches was released by Celina to other members of the Bennett family with an agreement (which was honoured) to give the children from her marraige to William money on their 21st birthdays. Unfortunately my grandmother did not discuss much of her childhood so we are struggling at the moment. We know that Ethal moved to Margate when she was around 17 years old and when she could bring her family with her. George Birch, Eric Blissett and Peggy Blissett were my mothers cousins. I now know that these were the grandchildren of Celina's. Born to the children from her first marraige. We know that 3 of the five children were called Alice, Lizzy and Nelly. If anyone can help us we would be grateful. |
