BENNETT. I am trying to find anyone with a connection to my Bennett family from the Newington to Greenwich areas of England. I have James Bennett (where and when born-unknown) as the father of Frederick Charles Bennett, born 1850 in Newington. (Frederick possibly has a sister Emily born 1841 who married a John Morris and migrated to Canada around 1869). Frederick Bennett married Elizabeth Talbot on 1 June 1868 at Church of St Paul, St Mary Newington. It is believed they had at least 11 children, one of whom was my grandmother Ethel Florence Bennett born 1892. Ethel Bennett married John Matthews -a widower, (son of James Matthews) at St Alfege Church Greenwich in 1920. Ethel and John Matthews had three children John, Elizabeth and Sylvia. Elizabeth and Sylvia migrated to Australia. I would love to hear from anyone who may have any connection to my family tree. |
