Jackie Brown b abt 1923

Trying to find out any information on Jackie Brown who was 'adopted' by my g granny Louisa Button. Apparantly he was her friend's son. Do not know what happened to the friend or why Jackie ended up with Louisa Button. He is in family photos and they lived in West Ham. My mum has memories of bringing him back up from England to a family in Cowcaddens, Glasgow for a visit. Any information would be appreciated.

Have you any idea of where he was from?
Do you or your Mam know his birthday?
Was he Jack or Jackie or Indeed John?
I know my Dad came from Scotland and all John's became Jackie?

Will help if I can but the more information you have the better.
Is ther anyone in your family left who can remember more information?

Hi Janice,
No one knowns anything apart from he was a friends illegitemate son who my gr Gran ended up caring for. He didn't stay within the family as an adult, however, is in family photos as a child. Everyone knows of him as Jackie, but like you I presume this is a variation of another name.
