I am trying to trace any relatives of my grandfather, Stewart Charles BROWN who was born in Melbourne on 31 December 1875.

I'm not sure when he emigrated from Australia to South Africa, and the first record I have been able to trace of him in South Africa is when he joined the Transvaal Horse Artillery as a volunteer on 31 March 1905.

He married Louisa Annie Lamont in Johannesburg on 3 July 1912 and they had three children:
 James Stewart Brown
 Charles Brown
 Margaret (Peggy) Brown

Prior to her death from cancer in 1953, Peggy had been corresponding with relatives in Australia, but I don’t know who they were or where they lived.

I would sincerely appreciate if anyone could provide me with more information.

Are you sure he was born in Melbourne, because I could not find him there?
However I did find a 'Stewart Charles' in Sydney, and possible siblings...
