Find Ancestors

I'm really struggling to find any information on a margaret brown.

I have the original marriage certificate in 1883. She married George Wood on the 16th of february at 4 East Adam Street, Edinburgh. At the time she was living at 9 Ingliston Street, edinburgh, and was 20 years old. Her parents are James Brown (Boot maker) and Helen Smith.

The earliest record of her I can find is the 1881 census living at 67B Hanover Street, Edinburgh, working as a domestic servant aged 17 and living with the family she works for. It lists her place of birth as Dundee, Forfar.

However I cannot find her in the 1871 census, I cannot find her birth certificate, or her parents marriage certificate, or her parents in any census is anyone able to help me in any way?

helen smith would have been 63 at the time of margarets birth in that option though... and all those births seem a little early i think if the age on her marriage certificate and census is to be believed

dont know what else to try...
