Sadly, Ann, you're in needle-haystack territory.

There are no birth-marriage-death records publicly accessible in Canada for the period you need, and the names are so common that the telephone directory (which usually provides only initials) will be of no help.

You could try placing advertisements in major urban newspapers -- the Toronto Star especially.
