I am trying to gather information about my Great Grandfather William Brown, he was born about 1894 in Scotland, and died on the 24th March 1942 in Brodsworth Colliery, Doncaster, West Riding of Yorkshire at the age of 48. He was the son of Robert Brown. He married Annie Goulding on the14th January 1919 in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England. This one has got me stumped, any helpful tips as to how to find any information would be most grateful. cheers Dave

There is only about a dozen William Browns, father Robert, on the 1901 censuses for Scotland & England, therefore once father's occupation is known it might be easy to track him down.
