Trying to find Mr Brown

Hi, I am trying to find a Mr Brown, who lodged with the family Brammer in Allenton, Derby, for a short time in 1943. All we know is that he was possibly from the north of England doing some casual work, again possibly for the Railways. They met in around October 1943 at the Crown Hotel in Allenton. The Brammers had a fish and chip shop in Allenton. Hope you can help. I know this information is very sketchy, but anyone around that time in Allenton who remember the Brammers at the fish shop, or the mysterious Mr Brown, please contact. Many thanks.
Addition to this, just found out it may have been Harry Brown, Harrold Brown.

I think Linda, that you are looking for a needle, which is in a pile of needles in a haystack, which in itself is surrounded by a large pile of needles and more haystacks. Good Luck.

Are you able to look at the Electoral Rolls for that year? Slim chance but he might be listed and you will at least get a first name.

Was he staying at the Crown Hotel? Another slim chance but do hotels keep visitors records that far back?

I have another lead on this, his family had a guest house/hotel in Blackpool. So not Yorkshire afterall.
