I found a Edward Thomas Brown m Rebecca Harre in 1865 (nee Godsalve). (Edwards father was John Brown) This was Rebeccas second marriage. Her 1st husband was George,Harre, George, died in 1961, I have a CERT. BUT THE PERSON PRESENT AT DEATH WAS A MARY FORD. My great-grand-father was Thomas Harre. (we are sure our Thomas was the son of George) We do not have a birth cert. and can not be 100% George and Rebecca were his parents. But it does seem likely.. Edward and Rebecca, after married, had children. They were my great-grand-father Thomas, half siblings. |

The 1871 census with the children that you mention on it has Edward down as Edward "J" Brown and not Edward "T" Brown. Are you sure this is the right family? |

This looks like the only likely birth for the Thomas E Brown on the 1871 census (with the first names the other way round):- |
