the brown i am looking for is either george or william he was born approx 1898 and he lived at no 14 st leonards steps i think bridgnorth. he supposedly had an affair with my mothers mother hence she was born in 1920 she never new her father but apparently he did contribute to her upbringing, my mother has since passed on and i thought it would be nice if i could trace this person to add to my family tree. i was born in shropshire but we migrated to australia in 1956 so i now very little about .england my grand mothers name is edna leadbetter as i said before any help would be much appreciated. regards to all mervyn case

Brown must be in the top 5 most common surnames in England and as you are uncertain of his first name, it is not much help. Was your mother's birth registered as Brown or Leadbetter? What was your mother's name? Was your Grandmother single or married please? Did your mother have any siblings or half siblings?
