FIRST MARRIAGE

I am trying to find the first marriage of William Brown in Devon sometime between 1847 and 1860. On his second marriage certificate at Okehampton in 1860 he is a widower. He has been the hardest person in my tree to pin down as there is conflicting information about him. Eg-in one census he says he is from Bristol and in the next from Torrington. I would greatly appreciate any help.

William Brown is a very common name - do you have any other info on him?

Here is more info about my ancestor William Brown. He was born sometime between 1826 and 1839, most probably about 1832, probably in Devon but possibly near Bristol. The info I have found on him is so contradictory. Every census his age varies (not by the normal 10 years!). The date of his first marriage is most likely sometime in the 1850s,his father is called Samuel and his second wife is Elizabeth Burn. His age on that certificate is shown as full.
