Hi again I have had a good look at a couple of certificates i have here firstly my granddads birth certificate Leslie James Brown born 22 march 1911 father listed as William Brown a house painter of 14 biirvell road Beckenham. Mothers name Francis brown formerly Holt residing at lockbottom house Farmborough I believe that is a workhouse where she is listed as a patient my grandads brother Alfred is also listed as living there So iam asuming that my granddad was born there. I also have my granddads marriage certificate he married Nellie Wylie on 4 july 1931 living at 26 eden road elmers end
on that marriage certificate his father is listed as Alfred William Brown and i remember now that i first applied for granddads birth certificate under that name and it was rejected but said that his fathers real name was William I am not sure if it is William Alfred or just William my granddads brothers name is Alfred What i am trying to work out is how i can get the right birth certificate for William and marriage certificate so i can get more information on Frances Holt eg parents names so I can do more of my tree Browns are hard to research Francis was born in essex according to the farmborough records
