trying to find my gf benjamin browns birth, circa 1910,he went on to marry elizabeth jane riddell in 1934. would love to find elizabeth janes birth certificate too,circa 1910 also many thanks

Marriage was in Sunderland but was he born in same area ?

Elizabeth J Riddell was born in Sunderland Jan/Feb/Mar 1911

Where and when did he die? If after 1966 there is a chance that his death registration may show his actual birthdate.

There is a tree on Ancestry with Elizabeth Riddell born Sunderland 1911 (17 September). Parents show as James W Riddell (1878) and Mary Ann Thompson.

You need to get this certificate
Benjamin Brown married Elizabeth J Riddell 1934 Sep Q Sunderland 10a 1623
It will cost £9.25 online from the Gro if you quote the volume and page numbers given
This will give you his fathers name and occupation and make it easier to find him in the censuses

If the birth found by Jane is the right one for Elizabeth (and it has the middle initial J so I think it is )then the Elizabeth mentioned by Mrs Grumpy cant be right as the month is wrong Again the marrriage cert will give her father and his occupation

Hmmm. There was no verification with the Ancestry tree so maybe the date was based on the info given on her death ...

Does sound as if the marriage cert is a must. Especially with a name like Brown - it would be very easy to go wrong.
