hi.i am looking for a marrage of mary browns first marrage to i think someone called billinton. i say i think because there is a sarah billinton in the 1861 census as daughter.aged 14 with james and mary johnson. mary was born 1829. this is where it gets tricky she then marrys someone named johnson.then marrys my g.g.grandad james johnson . 1856 i have there marrage cert as mary johnson. widow her father john brown.i would like to thank you in advance.

James did say that Mary married twice and each time to someone called Johnson, and so could probably be widowed in 1851, so your 1851 does seem to be her!

.............just realised that this is the same family as the one living next door to Mary Johnson in 1851 census.
James Brown, also living next door, would seem to be the son of John and Sarah Brown and brother of Mary.
