Alexander Brown b.c 1825 in Port Patrick, Wigtownshire (as per 1881 census), coal miner. m. Ann McDonald b.c. 1829 Ireland. 1847 Kilmaurs, Ayrshire. They moved around a lot and (per census) I found them alive in the 1901 census , where he says he was born in Ireland. This was in New Monkland, Lanarkshire. I want to know where and when they they died so I can search the death certs for the names of their parents. I am using www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk but with a name like Brown it is costing more than I like. :-) |

Ron I also am searching these names and stuck. Interestingly I have one set of granparents Brown and one McDonald all from Scotland/Ireland. You seem to be a generation in front of me. Please reply for link to my tree. also If you would let me see yours I may spot a link that I have not put on my tree yet. Perhaps if we find a link we could share finding info as you said I am also spending a lot of money? Thanks for nay help |
