Trying to find Brown

James Brown born Porlock, Somerset, 1836. Illegitimate son of Ann Brown, b c 1819 Porlock. I can track James (my great grandfather) through the 1841 and 1851 censuses but he disappears in 1861. He married Emma Elizabeth Cowley (my great grandmother) in 1866 but the certificate reveals that he was a widower. I would dearly love to know where he was between 1851 and 1866. Does anyone have a link to 'my' James Brown who was a stone mason by trade and could fill in the gaps about his first marriage or whereabouts between these years? I may have more relatives out there! Please get in touch if you think you can help.
