Hello. Mine is a search for my mothers father. She is 86 and has always wanted to know the name of her father - kept from her by her late mother. I have discovered from Birmingham archives (after agreement with the courts)that his name was William Charles Brown. Not an easy name to research without more information - and I have none. My mother was born in 1920. Her mother Lydia Harris was a machinst in a brassworks in Birmingham at the time. They lived in Devon St Nechells. Could she have met William Brown there? Who knows... If any of you Birmingham Browns know of any whiff of an illegitimate daughter born to a William Charles Brown in 1920 I would be more than interested. My mother is 86 and mentally failing fast. It would be good to show her more before she goes. Thanks, Peter Barton Lincoln UK
