Trying to find Brown

I am trying to get somewhere with tracing my Nannan's Father who unfortunately was called JOHN BROWN. Not much is known so far, but he was a Baptist Minister who married ELIZABETH GRANT ELRICK and they had my Nannan, MARY RITCHIE BROWN, and two other children who died young, as far as I am aware. They lived in HALIFAX at the time my Nannan was born in 1913. He remarried at some point a woman called ETHEL. I'm wondering whether John Brown's Mother's maiden name could have been RITCHIE, my Nannan's middle name. (I have traced the Elricks back some way and there is no Ritchie in that side...). I think he may have ended his days in Sheffield. I would appreciate any help from anyone out there ! |
