Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	George Brown with any associations to the name Leight,Laight or Layt. Born in St.Thomas,Birmingham circa 1848. Served in the army in India,later with the Royal Munster's in Tralee where my G/father was born. He was christened John Leight Brown but,for some reason became John Franklin Brown. I believe Leight was the original family name,whatever the spelling and some familial disgrace may have led to a name change. George eventually had a pub in Liverpool and died in the early 1900's.
