I understand my grandmother Eliza was born in Rochdale I would guess around the 1860's. She married my grandfather William Brown and they eventually settled in Wallasey Wirral. The had two sons Arthur and Sidney. I don't know how my grandmother got from Rochdale to Wallasey but I do know my grandfathers occupation was " Journeyman " so presumably he did a lot of travelling. I think he was originally from the London area and lived in Manchester for some time because I think my dad ( Sidney ) was born there. I would be grateful if anyone from the Rochdale area would know of an Eliza ( could be Elizabeth ) far back in their families who married a William Brown - long shot I know but it's worth a try. |
