Anthony Burke born Ireland probably Mayo c1835. Married Mary also from Ireland poss Sligo. Living in York 1861 with daughter Mary b c1854 and Peter b c1856. In 1881 family living in West Hartlepool Co Durham Anthony is now a widower living with Mary and Peter,also James b York c1859, Margaret b c1865, Ellen b c1868, Patrick b c 1868, Kate b c1872 and Edward b c 1877 all in West Hartlepool. Ellen married in 1885 to Dennis King. Anthony Burke was dead before that year. Has anyone any information on this family as I cannot go back further than this without the maiden name of Anthony's wife, but would also welcome any information on the rest of the Burke family. According to the 1881 census Peter and James were bricklayers. |
