My Gmother was christened Annie Love Brown Cameron in Scotland 1917, I know Scots generally take surnames as middle names but I can find nothing about Love or Brown in our history.
Anyone be able to give me any clues?, by the way she was born13.01.1917 in Bridgeton Lanark

Hi Martyn,
As you know Annie's exact birth date, do you have her birth cert?
That should tell you who her parents are & when they married.

There are lots of Love's & Brown's in Bridgeton, for example:
JANE LOVE MARRIED GEORGE BROWN 11/5/1866 BRIDGETON

Perhaps these are Annie's grandparents/grt grandparents????

What information on Annie's family do you have?

Regards
Kath

Hi Martyn,
There is a tree on Ancestry with your Georgina McMillan.

GEORGINA MCMILLAN B. 11/8/1886 GLASGOW (Bridgeton or Camlachie)
MARRIED 31/12/1906 GLASGOW TO DAVID BLAIR CAMERON.
DIED 31/8/1951 GLASGOW

It says it's from the BROWN bloodline.
Unfortunately I cannot view it because it says it may be that they are having technical difficulties or the person has removed their tree.
Drat & double drat!!!!!!

It looks to me like the Brown family does come into your McMillan/Cameron tree somewhere along the line.

I will try to see if I can help you but no promises.

Kath

Hi Martyn,
Just so you don't think I've forgotten you.

Still can't access that tree on Ancestry but I've found these few possibles
who may be related ( but also might not)

ROBERT LOVE MARRIED HELEN ALGIE 1865 CALTON GLASGOW

WILLIAM LOVE MARRIED AGNES CAMERON 1865 TRADESTON

CATHERINE LOVE MARRIED WILLIAM MCMILLAN 1865 TRADESTON

HUGH LOVE MARRIED ELIZABETH MCMILLAN 1865 CALTON GLASGOW

JAMES ANDERSON MILLAR LOVE MARRIED WILHELMINA CAMERON 1874 BLYTHSWOOD GLASGOW.

I will have a look at these tomorrow Martyn and a few Love/Brown marriages just to see where they take me.
I am enjoying the challenge.

Kind Regards
Kath

Hi Martyn,
I have trawled through the parish registers etc for the Cameron/Love/Brown connection.
There are many possibles and then I found a Brown's bloodline on Tribal Pages where you are mentioned as Martyn Robb to contact at Genes Reunited.

Hi Kath
I would be very interested to look at the O'connor family tree on ancestry.com that I found via Brown's bloodlines, but have no idea how to contact them via the site. Would you know the best way to go a bout this?

Hi Martyn,
Are you a member of Ancestry.co.uk/or .com ?

Click on public trees, put in Georgina's details & the O'Connor tree will come up. Click on that & at the top there will be the owners name/contact.

Martyn,
Have you managed to contact the owner of the O'Connor tree on Ancestry?
Or have you found anything interesting on the Brown's bloodline on Tribal Pages?

Hi kath
Sorry for the long delay in replying. I didn't get much luck on the O'connor tree as I think you have to pay to be a member. I have access to John Brown's tree (The brown's bloodlines) on this site but most of the names are hidden. Think I will have to contact him for further info. By the way are you the same Kath that has been helping me on my other thread "Georgina McMillan"?
Thanks once again for all your invaluable help
regards
Martyn
