My grandfather George Albert Hastings Cameron supposedly walked from Carlisle as a young man to settle in mining at Greenside Co. Durham in the early part of the 1900,s. I do not have any details about him or his early life - can anyone help? He became a very respected Justice of the Peace however he was killed in a mining accident when I was a young girl.
