Is anyone familiar with the Hownslow area of London? My Great grandfather gave his place of birth as Hownslow on one census and London, Middlesex on another. His date of birth could be 1852 or 53 depending on which information you believe. |

Hi Glitter Baby, yes that's the one - the first transcription I saw of that record, showed the place of birth as Birmingham, so you can imagine how much time I wasted there. Like you I eventually looked at the Image and was back to London. |

Well done you found the correct family - when Thomas's wife Rosanna was 23 she died of Typhoid fever. The family split up - Edward, my grandfather went to Roseanna's parents and Thomas took Maryann. |
