Find Ancestors

My g grandmaother was Jessie from Holloway Islington born 1879 married Ruebon Thomas Flintham. her faher was James Carter abt 1842 married Mary Steedman abt 1845., but can't find confirmaion of birth etc. James father was also James abt 1815 and mother Caroline Barwick abt 1821 again have no concrete info and i'm stuck can't get any further back. can anyone help please!!!!
