Find Ancestors

I am trying to find the date of birth and town where my great, great,, great grandfather was born. I know he was married to Mary Ann Lemmon in christchurch, Hampshire 26/01/1863

I know he was born in 1842, just dont know the date or town, unsure of his parents names but know he had a son after he moved to Australia (unsure of date moved to australlia). His sons name is John Arthur Carter 1863 - 1911
