He married Mary Ann Elizabeth WINHALL (b 12 July 1854 Lambeth) in c1878 at Bethnal Green. Known children were: Eliza Elizabeth (c1880 Greenwich who married Walter Edwin Lawrence b c1872 Tottenham); Robert (c1878 Greenwich); William (c1882 Millwall); Mary (c1887 Canning Town); Alice (c1880 Canning Town.)
