Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 3 Send Message	I am trying to trace the parents and ancestors of George William Carter probably born 26 march 1892 in Cobh Co Cork. Married Olive Georgina Price on 13 june 1915 in East London and died in King Georges Hospital Ilford 9 march 1960. There is an unconfirmed story that his parents came from Cornwall and went to Ireland at the time he was born and the returned to England. There is also the suggestion that there was a name change from Carter to Sansom or Samson and back to Carter. I have no idea why! does this ring any bells with anyone. I have been stuck with this for 10 years! Ken

Member Since: April 2005 Posts: 200 Send Message	Do you have the marriage cert. of Geo. and Olive, if you do that would give you the name of his father and his occupation. Then perhaps one could look in Cornwall to see if there is a person by that name living down there on the 1891 census. How does that sound?
