'' of full age'' in 1878 dose that mean he was 18 years old as his wife age is stated as 17 on cert.

No, back then it meant 21 or older. As a consequence, he didn't need parental permission to marry.

Have searched records for his birth but not sure which ones to order as the first one l got was wrong!

He could have been a lot older than 21. Does the marriage certificate give his father's name and occupation?

Hi Alison - I think you're right - I think his age was given as 13 in 1871, and there's been a mistranscription, either by Ancestry or the enumerator. His age is 23/33/43 in the next censuses if I've got the right guy (rg11/147045/17, rg12/1143/37/?, rg13/1344/36/?), so i guess this is him:

Births Sep 1856 (98%)
CLARK Charles Wycombe 3a 363

George and Emma are George and Emily in 1881 (rg11/1470/46/19).
I looked for them in 1851, but only found visitors George with daur Sarah (ho107/1720/?/?). This is possibly Emma:

Deaths Sep 1902 (>99%)
Clark Emma 73 Wycombe 3a 397
