Hi, I would like to hear from anyone who can tell me anything about a family with the surname Clark who lived for some time in Old Monkland, Lanark, Scotland, or nearby area, in the period from 1820 to 1860. and possibly beyond. The dominant male first name in this family is Hugh and female first name Mary, because a Hugh Clark DOB. 03. 05. 1797 married to Mary (nee Templeton DOB. 1799), on the 31. 05. 1822. They had eight children all born in Scotland. Some were born in the mid 1820's and 30's in Millport, Cumbrae. The eldest son Hugh returned to Lanarkshire, where he also had a son called Hugh with his wife Bethia (nee Russel), in 1857. I would like to hear from descendants of this family. I am a descendant through another son, Alexander and can share information about my own line who moved to New Zealand in 1862. Please contact me through this site. |
