Agree that it may not be your Charles's family, but it's my best guess. Do you have his marriage cert that would confirm his father's name and occupation.

I did find below the birth of Sarah and John's daughter Rose in 1871 which is spelt with an e - she was 7 weeks old at the time of the census. (There wasn't a Rose Clark without the e) At the time many people could not read or write well so spelling of names may have varied, but it needs checking with the marriage or birth cert
