Hi, I am trying to find out about my Grandfather and Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was called Matthew Clarke born 1906 or 1907. I am not sure whether he was born in Ireland or in England and I cannot find any records of him here in England, except wedding records. He married in Chorley, Lancashire 16 October 1937 to Winifred Pressler and they had a Son, Joseph Brian Clarke ( my Father) who was born 14 August 1938. Matthew left my Grandmother and Father around the time my Father was 2 years old and I have no idea where he went. My Grandmother died in 1948 in Chorley, Lancashire. My Great Grandfather was called James Clarke and I think he was born in Ireland but I have no futher details. Please help!!!!!! Many thanks. |
