Has anyone any information on the Clarke family? My Great Great Grandfathers name was Alexander Clarke and Great Grandfathers name was Julius Clarke. They originated from Barbados. Julius Clarke married a woman whose name was Catherine (Kate) Best (widow) nee McArthur 7/1/1896, and he sailed on the Royal Mail boats as a merchant sailor. He settled in Southampton. He's buried in the old cemetery at the Common in Southampton. One of his sons, my Grandfather, was Arthur Julius Clarke born 5/11/1890 in Southampton. There are relatives still in Barbados I believe, sons and daughters of my Grandfathers brothers and sisters. Thanks for any information..... |
