I'm seeking decendants or his familys decendants of my gggrandad PETER CLARKE born approx. 1798 in JERSEY, Channel Islands. His father was Thomas CLARKE (occupation... Land Surveyor) I don't know when he came to England but in 1830 he sailed from London to New York on the SHIP HUDSON. He was 33 years old and was a Shoemaker. Again I don't know when he came back to England but Peter married AMELIA SLOPER who was born approx. 1812 in Bath, Somerset. Her father was William SLOPER (occupation.. Baker). They had three daughters SUSAN b. 1837 in BATH, CAROLINE b. 1844, and MARY-ANN b. 1851 born in BRISTOL. I am at a loss how to trace Peter's family in Jersey or to find out what he did in New York or even where he lived up to marrying Amelia in about 1836. Any help gratefully received Cheers Julia
