I am trying to find out about my maternal grandmother ELSIE CLARKE. born around 1905 in HARTWELL NORTHAMPTONSHIRE. She had a brother WILL, sister Francis, known as Nance. Elsie and Nance married brothers ARCHIBALD AND ALFRED DICKENS. There were two other sisters Florence and Elizabeth. The families lived in Hartwell. Elsie spent some time in a childrens home in London that was run by nuns. I know nothing else about it. Elsie moved from Hartwell to Bourne End Cranfield Beds with her 2nd husband Harry. (Henry Stephenson) HAVELOCK Elsie had 4 children William born Clarke, adopted by Dickens. Jean, Joan and Nancy. Nancy was not the daughter of Dickens even though she had his name. Think father was a J Watton again of HARTWELL NORTHANTS. If anyone knows anything about any of them, I would be most grateful for information.
