Hi..

so far I have only been concerned with long-dead rellies! So I don't have much experience of looking for living ones.

Can anyone suggest what to do next?

I have from the death certificate, the details of an informant who was the niece at the time.

She was A A Clarke, living in Woodley, Reading, in 1935.

I have been in contact with Reading library and from Kelly's street directory they have given me the head of the household at her address being H Y Clarke, who is likely to be her husband/father? I would estimate her age to be 35-50 given the deceased was 73 and a middle child of her siblings.

I have replied to Reading, asking if they could possibly look forward and see the latest date this same person is at that address, and then from there, I plan on contacting Berkshire Record Office to see who is entered on the electoral roll for that year, leaving it until late to see if there are any adult children there.

is there anything else I can do in the meantime? Freebmd doesn't seem to like looking for H* Y* Clarke getting married!

Many thanks for any pointers...

(seeking a living descendant!)
PS.. I've tried the Ancestry phone books, but no apparent listing at that time, unsurprisingly)
