The 1901 census shows my grandfather WILLIAM BEALE COLLINS, his wife SARAH and eight children living at 3 PRINCES STREET, YEOVIL. He was a PRINTER & BOOKSELLER. My father GORDON BEALE COLLINS (b.1894) was the youngest child. I grew up believing he had just one brother HAROLD. The census shows his sisters were ANNIE, AMY, ETHEL, GERTRUDE and MABEL. The brothers were HAROLD & ARTHUR. If anyone has information about these five ladies or their decendants or ARTHUR BEALE COLLINS I would be very grateful. I know nothing of my father's early life prior to 1932 when he drove a RILEY SPORTS CAR from Durban to Johannesburgh, South Africa, breaking all previous records. He subsequently married and had seven children. He died in 1967. |
