DAVID & NORAH COLLINS born about 1845 & 1842 in Ireland. Moved to Bristol where David worked as a warehouse porter, Norah was a cook and where my great grandmother, Ellen Collins was born in about 1871. Ellen married Edmund Jackson and they lived in Bristol all their lives I beieve. Does anyone recognise David & Norah and know any more about them? At the time of the census in 1881 they had Johanna Denakor (a relative) and Winifred Sheldon visiting them (aged 71 and 70 from Ireland).

Hello Bridget,

My name is André Collins and I am the son of John Robert Collins born in Ashford Middlesex on the 24/07/1941. I know that my Father had 1 brother Peter, 1 sister Norah and another sister called Daphne.

His mother was Violet, and I believe his father was George. Are any of these names part of your Family Tree?

David Collins and Honora Callaghan - Bristol in the 3rd qtr 1869
vol 6a page 187

1871 census This could be a possible for your family

David collins age 25 grocers porter - Cork Ireland
Norah age 30 housekeeper - Cork Ireland
Ellen age 7 months - Bristol
Ellen (mother) age 69 widow - Cork Ireland
living 2 Merryfield Court, Bristol

Living next door is the Callaghan family

John age 60 labourer -
Johannah age 58 launderess
David age 25 warehouse worker
Norah age 20 shop woman
Johannah age 18 dress maker
All born Cork, Ireland
living 1 Merryfield Court, Bristol
