Trying to find first wife and children's names (12 children) of Thomas Cook who was born c.1837/38. He was baptised 25 March 1838. Thomas was born in Henbury, Gloucestershire. Parents were, William and Louisa Cook (nee Ames). Believe his brothers and sisters were Louisa, William, Frederick, Sarah, Catherine. |

Thank you for that information. I would really love to find some information on his first wife's name and then I could possibly trace all his childrens details. |

Hi Sandra, Have you seen the story of Thomas Cook and Jeanette Smith on Ancestry? Doesn't have much more info. than you already have, although it does say, that he was living in New Zealand, before he came to Aust, and that 8 of his 12 children were still alive when he married Jeanette. So, he could have been married in England or N.Z.!! |

Hi Polly Poppet - yes, you are right. I just don't know enough about him to know if he was at sea then. I do know he went to New Zealand, but thought that was not a long term situation. He could have lived, married and had 12 children there. I should probably try to find records of him, his first wife and children in New Zealand. I just thought they were probably all in the UK. |
