Death record of Albert Cook, Eastbourne

I've been unable to find any reference anywhere to the death of my grandfather Albert Cook, who I always understood died in Eastbourne in 1939 aged 91 (born Kensworth, Herts/Beds 1848 or 1849, occupation master baker). The annoying thing is I know my Dad did have his father's death certificate but I have not been able to find it since my parents died and I have a nasty feeling Dad may have thrown it out when he got muddled in old age! If anyone can help me track him down I'd be most grateful.
