I am trying to find my cousin, birth name Ian Cook, who was born when I was about seven and adopted when he was about 1 year old. The only information I have is vague but I believe he was adopted by a couple in the Oxford area who were either teachers or lecturers. Approximate date of birth would be 1962, Canterbury, Kent. I have contact with his older brothers and sisters. It was believed Ian had hearing problems from birth, he was thought to be deaf but later showed reaction to sound. My parents had offered to adopt him (his father and my mother were brother and sister). His mother died from heart failure when he was three days old, which is the only reason for adoption being decided. |
